Two Way Thursday – Target

Ok, so not the most exciting name for a post, but I’m sure you already know what this will be about.

Each Thursday, I’ll be showcasing an item and giving you two different examples on how to wear it.

These post will not just be restricted to clothing either.

This is all about C.P.W Cost Per Wear.

The more times you can wear an item the cheaper it becomes – well that’s what we can tell the hubby anyway.

To kick start Two Way Thursday, today I am showing you two ways to wear the Target Eyelet Shift Dress $49 Sizes 6 – 20. *Note – I am wearing a size 8 in the dress.

Now I do fancy this dress for a few reasons.

The first being it is a shift dress.

Shift dresses tend to feature little detail aside from breast darts, so they skim the curves rather than cling to them.

This type of cut draws attention away from tummy and is flattering on most body types – tick.

It also has a V-neck style, which opens the chest area.

Great for ladies with broader shoulders.

Plus I just love this colour.

Oh and it just comes under the $50 price point.

On the left, I have teamed the dress with Target Tappy Esapdrilles $29 Sizes 6 -11. *Note – I am wearing an 8 in the Espadrilles.

This gives the dress a more relaxed vibe.

On the right, I am doubling up and using the dress as a top.

I’m wearing it with the Target Ponte Pencil Skirt in Animal Print $35 Sizes 6 – 20. *Note – I am wearing a 6 in the skirt. I found the sizing to be on the more generous side.

The ponte material is great for work as it has quite a bit of stretch.

So there you go, one dress two ways.

Which do you prefer: left or right? Or both?

Wow, this looks great. How do you deal with the bulk under the skirt though? Do you think it would make you look bigger in the hips?

      Hi Emma,
It doesn’t had too much bulk because it is a shift dress.
If you are concerned, you could certainly add a midi or A-line skirt.

This looks great! I’m going to try layering a skirt over a dress now!

What shoes are you wearing in the second shot? They look good with a skirt and not too high.

    Hi Alex,
These looks are great – can I ask where your black sandals are from?

I sew quite a bit. We call them bust darts 🙂 which is a little less descriptive 🙂 You look great.
