Most of us dread the start of the new year after having some much-needed time off over the Christmas period.
I can certainly say I am not one to fall into the ‘back to work/school’ slump… A new year means new workwear, and I am all for that!
This year marks my ninth year in the education profession and since starting whattheteacherwears in 2014, there has been no such thing as a typical work day for me.
No two work days have ever looked the same.
On any given day I am catching up on countless emails, planning content, partaking in a photoshoot, styling clients – oh yeah, and attending my fulltime education job.
I feel like I’m always on the hustle, so my work wardrobe needs to be super flexible, and fashionable, to take me from clients to the classroom to the boardroom to the catwalk (A girl can only dream right?).
That’s wear Jeanswest comes in – see what I did there?
The new season at Jeanswest is all about pretty, versatile workwear. With some savvy styling you can really find an outfit for any profession here – from teacher to stay home Mum, to those ladies in the high-end corporate world and everyone in between.
Take a look as I weave denim into my work week, but also as I leave it completely behind in some looks to showcase the variety Jeanswest offer to build a fun, professional work wardrobe suitable for any occasion.
We all know Jeanswest are famous for denim, but you’ll be equally delighted with their latest collect designed especially to get you fabulously through 9-5.
Outfit One – Angelica Print Shift Dress
I love this dress from the new workwear capsule. The simple print on the bright green base really pops. Plus, talk about comfort. It has been made with a 4-way stretch and soft fabrics.
The lightweight fabrication that will keep you cool and comfortable (perfect for our Aussie weather). The Angelica dress has a round neckline, flutter sleeves, keyhole back, front removable waist belt and a ruffled hemline.
I’m wearing a size 10. The Angelica Dress ranges from size 8 – 16.
- Wear with crisp white sneakers for a cool streetwear look or a low block heel for work
- Layer with fine necklaces that won’t take away from the neck detail
- A round bag is the perfect accessory
- In the cooler months, team with a denim jacket
Shop the Angelica Print Shift Dress here.
Denim does not have to be for the weekends only.
If I wear denim to work I opt for a darker wash such as these Indigo Ink Skinny Jeans.
Teamed with the April Drop Shoulder Ruffle Top, this is an outfit that will take me from the office/school to the dinner table! The top is made from a lightweight, dobby textured fabrication. Its relaxed fit features ruffled sleeves, a button and keyhole closure at the back.
I’m wearing a size 10 in both pieces.
The April Drop Shoulder Ruffle Top ranges from sizes 8 – 16 while the
Indigo Ink Skinny Jeans range from sizes 6 – 20.
- Tuck into a skirt or pair with denim to define your waist
- Add a necklace for a pop of colour
- Team with wedges or a block heel for work and sneakers on the weekend
You can never go wrong with black and white.
Both pieces are from the new workwear capsule.
The print is simple but demands attention.
The Delphine top has a pleat front detail, round hemline, button and keyhole back and is in a relaxed fit.
Now the pants. How hard is it to find a great fitting pair of black pants? Well ladies, Jeanswest have answered our calls.
A super stylish choice for the office or school, the Cathy 4-Way Stretch Pant will keep you comfortable all day long. Designed with two functional waist pockets, two mock back pockets, belt loops and is cut in a regular straight, full length fit.
I’m wearing a size 10 in both pieces.
The Delphine Pleat Front Top is available in sizes 8 – 16 while the Cathy 4 Way Stretch Pant ranges from size 8 -14 (I do suggest to try on the size up in these).
- Dress the pants up with a girly blouse and black heels or flats for an effortless 9-to-5 look.
- Add a pop of colour to your lips for high impact
- Keep the accessories simple and let your outfit do the talking
As you can see Jeanswest have a variety of work outfits to get you through 9 -5. I do highly recommend their new workwear range, which has some great staples pieces as well on trend prints.
Which outfit would you wear to work? Outfit one, two or all three?
You can certainly dress up your work week at Jeanswest.
