I love a good capsule wardrobe. It builds a solid foundation to create a wardrobe that works for you. That’s why birdsnest and I have teamed up to bring you our Spring Capsule Wardrobe.
A birdsnest Capsule is a collection of styles that you can mix and match to create many different outfits. In this post, I’ll show you how to put them altogether.
When creating this capsule, we wanted to ensure that each piece would work with at least one other piece from the collection. This means more outfits for you from less pieces.
Here’s what you will find in this Spring Capsule Collection:
This capsule includes:
- 1 dress
- 1 jumpsuit
- 1 denim jacket
- 2 tops
- 2 bottoms
In this post, I’ll show you how to style all seven pieces in nine different outfits. All pieces are from birdsnest in-house created labels.
Simply click on the coloured box to take you to each piece.
You’ll notice that the colour pallet is quite on trend for spring but will also work for anytime of the year. What I really love is that this capsule wardrobe can be seamlessly dressed up or down by adding or swapping shoes and accessories.
Let’s start with Outfit One.
I am all for jumpsuits at the workplace. Plus having the collar on this one easily translates it to have more corporate appeal if that’s what you require.
The navy shade is timeless and can be worn back with many colours.
It all comes down to the accessories. For smart-casual (as shown here) add a pop with your shoe colour or lipstick. To make this look corporate, simply add a pointed heel.
The jumpsuit will be arriving very soon. Make sure you sign up to know when it lands.
And this my friends is why I love a capsule wardrobe. It’s all about versatility.
An easy outfit for the weekend.
I would certainly add some crisp white sneakers too for edgy street appeal.
Let’s move onto Outfit Three.
We all know the a white button up shirt is a wardrobe must and there is a reason why this one is call the Go To Shirt.
The cotton blend makes this shirt more of a relaxed fit and ridiculously comfortable. Plus the shell buttons give it a point of interest unlike most white shirts.
For this look, I’ve paired the shirt back with the Spot Me Pants and teamed back with tan sandals. This is a super fun work outfit.
To dress up simply swap the shoes for a heel or wedge.
You could even add your own belt too.
The shirt and pants are arriving very soon. Be sure to sign up to receive notification when they do.
This whole look would certainly have to be one of my favs!
To elevate the outfit, I simply swapped the sandals for nude wedges and added the Denim Jacket.
To add an extra element, instead of putting my arms through the jacket I opted on wearing it over my shoulders as a cape.
I’ll be wearing this outfit to a few events coming up over the next few weeks.
An easy outfit for work or play and who doesn’t love a splash of red.
If you are someone who prefers natural fibres then, outfit five is for you as both pieces are cotton.
Stylish, lightweight and breathable and oh so easy to wear.
In outfit six, we introduce to you the Runaway Top. The perfect little black cami that will go back with every piece in your wardrobe.
While we transition from spring to summer, add the Denim Jacket.
I’ve paired wedges back with this outfit but you could swap those out for slides, sandals or sneakers.
With your social calendar quickly filling up, outfit seven is the perfect combo for any backyard BBQ or weekend outing.
Simply add some slides and out you go.
The spot pant may make some of you worry that it might be drawing attention to places you don’t want.
The pattern disguises all of our lumps and bumps as the eye isn’t drawn to one place in particular.
Now I’m not one to pick favourites, but when I saw the Wild One Maxi Dress, I knew she had to be in this collection.
The leopard print is very on trend right now, but is a timeless pattern and you will be able to wear her for many years to come.
When I first saw this dress, I immediately thought of my Christmas party which is happening in November and I’ll certainly be wearing this piece. And hey, more than likely on Christmas Day too.
Plus it has an amazing back detail which you’ll have to check out. Best part, you can still wear your normal strapless bra.
Our last outfit of the Spring Capsule Wardrobe.
To style the maxi for a smart casual vibe, add the Denim Jacket and you are done. And yes it’s just that simple.
Of course you can add some accessories too. A statement earring will do just the trick.
And there you have it, nine outfits from seven pieces to take you through spring.
Which ones will you be adding to your wardrobe?
Size reference – I’m wearing a size 10 in all pieces.
